Besta & Innovatrix Labs Win!
May 2013 – SCRANTON, PA – The TecBRIDGE the former Great Valley Technology Alliance (GVTA) recently held its 11th Annual Business Plan Competition Awards Ceremony, at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. Those eligible to enter the competition include students from the region’s 14 colleges and universities and along with Non-Collegiate startups. At this one-of-a-kind event prizes totaling $100,000 in cash and in-kind services were awarded to the contestants and are to be used to launch their knowledge-based company. It is about businesses investing in Northeastern Pennsylvania’s greatest asset…its PEOPLE.
After careful deliberation, the judges selected collegiate team Besta as the winner. The team consists of Shawn Whitiak from Keystone College and Michelle Mendez. Besta is a manufacturing company with a strong focus in environmentally friendly products. The products are designed for parents that want to provide their kids non-toxic, antibacterial, and 100% sustainable products. Products are aesthetically pleasing and artistically designed making them unique to the discriminating buyer.
Innovatrix Labs was selected the Non-collegiate winner this year. The leadership team is lead by Niraj Pathak and Jesse Fox. Innovatrix Labs is a Rapid Prototyping and Fabrication Laboratory which utilizes existing and emerging technology such as 3D printing for the purpose of rapid prototyping and small scale fabrication. Innovatrix Labs will market and sell our 3D printing services to architects, engineers by offering affordable and automated creation of 3D models. Upon establishing an initial client base, Innovatrix Labs will edge out into additional niche markets that can benefit from 3D printing and rapid fabrication.
