Competition Guidelines

  • The High School Big Idea Essay Competition is open to all high school students located in the tecBRIDGE partner footprint.
  • To participate, home school students must advise a parent or guardian and public/private school students must advise their teacher, coordinator, or parent. To ensure all submissions are received in time for judging, all Competition submissions must be delivered electronically to tecBRIDGE by the student’s contact. All submissions will be confirmed back to the submitting party.
  • Students are encouraged to submit an essay not to exceed 1,000 words. This year, up to five finalists will be invited to present their resume and discuss their essay with Competition Judging Committee Members.
  • Finalists of the Big Idea Essay Competition will receive a financial stipend to go toward advanced education expenses (books, tuition, supplies). The Winner will receive a $1,000 award and all finalists will receive a $500 award for future education expenses.
