Mike Burns

Mike Burns is a recognized leader in applied AI for enterprise use cases. As founder and CEO of Attainable Edge (www.attainableedge.com) he helps large businesses improve their performance by applying generative AI solutions to help automate the routine, and make smarter, better, and faster decisions enabled by AI.

With experience working in for-profit and non-profit companies between $25M and $2B, and over two decades of experience navigating the intersection of business and technology, Mike brings an invaluable perspective to the rapidly evolving AI landscape.

Mike began his professional journey in the tech world as a software developer with a focus on decision support and data visualization. His journey took flight at Berkshire Hathaway Guard Insurance Companies, where he honed his skills and eventually led the software development team. His period at Guard solidified his commitment to a pragmatic, business-aligned, and technologically sophisticated approach.

Following his time at Guard, Mike transitioned to Benco Dental, a nearly $1B dental distributor where he held various directorships including Software Development and Sales Operations. His time at Benco culminated in a six-year stint as Chief Information Officer (CIO), during which time he orchestrated technology strategy across the enterprise. In the spring of 2023, he left Benco to concentrate on the burgeoning wave of AI as a full-time pursuit.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mike is deeply involved in community service as the Board Chair for Maternal and Family Health Services, a non-profit catering to over 400,000 individuals in 14 Pennsylvania counties. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from King’s College and an MBA from The University of Scranton. Mike resides in Shavertown, PA with his wife and son.
