From Scarcity to Sustainability: The NEPA RISE Program’s Solution to Workforce Challenges

Liz Finley & Chris Warland - William G. McGowan Charitable Fund

Trauma and scarcity are significant issues affecting the workforce, with up to 60% of working-age adults reporting traumatic experiences. These experiences can lead to normal human responses that manifest in the workplace as lost productivity, increased absences, and higher turnover rates. Recognizing the impact of trauma on employees, there is a growing need to adapt principles of trauma-informed care, originally developed in the social services field, to the workplace environment.

This presentation, "From Scarcity to Sustainability: The NEPA RISE* Program's Solution to Workforce Challenges," will explore the pervasive nature of trauma among workers and its effects on both individuals and organizations. We will discuss how increased trauma awareness and the application of trauma-informed care principles can benefit both employees and employers by creating a more supportive and productive work environment.

The NEPA RISE Program stands at the forefront of addressing these challenges. By incorporating a comprehensive curriculum designed to tackle the struggles faced by those who have experienced trauma and scarcity, NEPA RISE provides a pathway to a more resilient and sustainable workforce. Join us as we delve into how this innovative program is driving both individual and organizational success.
