The Wilkes Accelerated Research, Learning, and Outreach Cluster (WARLOC) is a versatile supercomputer located in the Mark Engineering Center at Wilkes University. Funded by an NSF Major Research Instrumentation Grant, WARLOC features a heterogeneous architecture suited to a variety of computational tasks. More than just a machine, WARLOC serves as the hub for interdisciplinary research at Wilkes University. WARLOC’s mission is to support the Northeastern PA community by advancing state-of-the-art research and providing a platform for education and outreach. Local scientists and engineers use WARLOC for pioneering research in nanomaterials, quantum computing, embedded sensors, microbial metagenomics, LiDAR drone analysis, computational drug discovery, and artificial intelligence. Committed to sharing resources and discoveries, the WARLOC team actively seeks opportunities to engage with the greater NEPA region.
